How to Show Your cTrader Results on Your Website
Most guides about showing trading results on a website assume MetaTrader. If you trade on cTrader, you have probably noticed: the tools either do not support the platform or ask you to run something on a machine that stays on.
On ShowMyTrades a cTrader account connects with one authorisation and nothing installed. This guide takes you from that click to a live chart on your own page.
๐งฐ What cTrader Gives You on Its Own
| Built-in option | What it is for | Why it is not this |
|---|---|---|
| Statement export | An HTML or Excel file of your history | A file, frozen when you export it, uploaded by hand |
| cTrader Copy strategy page | Showing a strategy to people who may copy it inside cTrader | It lives on cTrader, for cTrader users. It is not an embed for your own site |
| cTrader Web widgets | Brokers embedding the trading platform itself | They show the platform, not your personal track record |
What is missing is the simple thing: your own results, live, inside your own page, checkable by someone who does not use cTrader at all.
๐ Step 1: Authorise the Account
Sign up free, open Add Account in the dashboard and choose cTrader.
- You are sent to cTrader's own login page. You sign in there with your cTrader ID, not on our site.
- cTrader asks whether to allow the connection. You approve it.
- You come back to ShowMyTrades and the trading accounts you authorised are added to your dashboard.
That is the whole connection. It runs on the official cTrader Open API with OAuth:
- No password reaches us. We receive a token from cTrader, not your credentials.
- It is read-only in use. The connection reads history, positions and balance. It never places, modifies or closes an order.
- You can revoke it. From your cTrader ID settings, at any time, without changing your password.
- Nothing runs on your side. No cBot, no plugin, no VPS. The account updates whether your computer is on or not.
The history is imported and the statistics are computed for you: time-weighted growth, drawdown, monthly returns, results per symbol.
๐ Step 2: Publish the Account
A widget shows a public page, so the account must be published. Open the account in your dashboard, go to its settings and set the visibility to Published, or to link-only (unlisted) if you want the widget on your site without the account appearing in our public directory.
In the same settings, the Privacy Options let you hide the account number, lot sizes, open trades, closed trades, stop loss and take profit, comments and notes. Whatever you hide there stays hidden inside every widget.
๐ Step 3: Copy the Widget and Paste It
Open Widgets in the dashboard, choose the account and a widget type. The builder previews it live and gives you the code. For the Equity Curve it looks like this:
<iframe
id="smt-equity-a1b2c3d4e"
src="https://showmytrades.com/widget/YOUR-ACCOUNT-SLUG?type=equity&theme=auto"
width="100%"
height="400"
loading="lazy"
frameborder="0"
style="border-radius: 8px; width: 100%;">
</iframe>
<script>
(function() {
var iframe = document.getElementById('smt-equity-a1b2c3d4e');
window.addEventListener('message', function(e) {
if (e.data?.type === 'widget-resize' && e.source === iframe.contentWindow) {
iframe.height = e.data.height;
}
});
})();
</script>
Paste it into your page where the chart should appear, script included: those last lines let the widget set its own height, so there is never a scrollbar inside the frame.
Where to paste, by site type:
- WordPress: a Custom HTML block.
- Wix, Webflow, Squarespace, Shopify: the embed element of each builder.
- Plain HTML: anywhere inside
<body>.
๐ What You Can Show
| Widget | What is inside |
|---|---|
| Equity Curve | One chart with five views: Growth, Balance, Profit, Growth by Trade, Drawdown |
| Stats Card and Stats Inline | Gain, drawdown, balance, equity, as a card or as a single row |
| Monthly Returns | Month-by-month table or chart, in percent or money |
| Currency Pair Stats | Longs, shorts and totals per symbol |
| Trade History Table | Closed trades and open positions |
| Complete Dashboard | The whole account page, verification badges included |
If the place you are posting does not accept an iframe (a forum, an email, a README), each account also has eleven self-updating images in PNG or SVG. They are covered in trading results in a forum signature, email or chat.
๐ค If You Run cBots
A cBot's results are the account's results, so the same widget shows them. Two details help when the widget sits on the page where you offer the cBot:
- Use an account that runs only that cBot. A track record that mixes a robot with manual trades proves neither.
- Put the Drawdown view next to the Growth view. A buyer of an automated strategy looks for the worst moment first. Showing it yourself reads as confidence.
The longer version is in how to show live EA results on your sales page: it is written with MetaTrader words, and every point applies to a cBot.
๐ก๏ธ Why a Visitor Should Believe It
The chart on your site is drawn from data ShowMyTrades reads from cTrader, and every widget links back to the account page on our side. A reader who doubts the chart can click through and find the same numbers on a page you cannot edit.
That page also carries the verification badges: Track Record Verified for data that arrives from the broker, Trading Privileges Verified for proof that the publisher controls the account. How to earn them.
โ FAQ
Do I need to install a cBot or keep cTrader open? No. The connection is between cTrader's servers and ours. Your computer can be off.
Is my cTrader password shared with ShowMyTrades? No. You sign in on cTrader's own page and approve the connection there. We receive a token that you can revoke from your cTrader ID settings.
Can the connection trade on my account? We only read. No widget, page or setting on ShowMyTrades places, modifies or closes an order.
I have several accounts under one cTrader ID. Do I have to show them all? No. Every account you add starts private, and each one is published or kept private on its own. An account you do not want at all can be deleted from the dashboard.
Does it work with any cTrader broker? It works through the cTrader Open API, which covers the brokers on the standard cTrader platform. If your account does not appear after you authorise, write to us.
Is it free? Yes. Connecting the account, the public page and the widgets cost nothing.
