How to Build a Track Record Page for Your Trading Website

A track record page is the one page a serious visitor looks for. What to put on it, in what order, with a live widget instead of a screenshot: a complete outline you can copy.

Whatever you offer as a trader (a signal, an EA, a course, a managed strategy, or simply your name), the serious visitor looks for one page on your site: the one called Results, Performance or Track Record.

Most sites get it wrong in the same way: a gallery of screenshots, a table typed by hand, a PDF from last quarter. This guide is an outline for a page that does the job, built around a live widget and around the fact that the visitor arrives sceptical.

๐ŸŽฏ What the Page Is For

One thing: letting a stranger check your results without having to trust you.

That sentence decides everything else. It is why a screenshot fails (the visitor has to trust you that it is real), why a hand-typed table fails (same), and why a live widget works: the numbers come from the broker through a third party, and the visitor can click through to a page you cannot edit.

It also decides the tone. A track record page is not a sales page. The less it sells, the more it convinces.

๐Ÿงฑ The Outline

Six blocks, in this order. Copy it.

#BlockWhat goes in it
1One sentenceWhat this account is, in plain words
2The live recordThe Complete Dashboard widget, full width
3How to read itThree or four lines on what you trade and how
4The bad parts, said by youThe worst drawdown and what happened
5How it is verifiedWhere the data comes from, with the link
6The fine printA risk notice, and the date the account started

1. One sentence

Before any chart, say what the reader is looking at:

Live account, EURUSD and gold, fully automated, running since March 2025.

Real or demo, which instruments, manual or automated, since when. Add the broker if you are happy to name it. A chart with no caption makes the reader guess, and a sceptical reader guesses against you.

2. The live record

This is the page. Use the Complete Dashboard widget at 100% width: it is the only widget that carries the account header, with the real or demo label and both verification badges, then the statistics and the full chart with its Growth, Balance, Profit and Drawdown views.

</iframe>
<script>
(function() {
  var iframe = document.getElementById('smt-complete-a1b2c3d4e');
  window.addEventListener('message', function(e) {
    if (e.data?.type === 'widget-resize' && e.source === iframe.contentWindow) {
      iframe.height = e.data.height;
    }
  });
})();
</script>

You get this code, with your account in it, from Widgets in your ShowMyTrades dashboard, after you have connected the account and set it to Published. Connecting is read-only and free: see the guides for MetaTrader and cTrader.

If you prefer a lighter page, replace the dashboard with three widgets in a column: Equity Curve, Monthly Returns, Trade History Table.

3. How to read it

Three or four lines, no more. What the strategy does, how much it risks per trade, how often it trades, what a normal bad month looks like. This is the context the numbers cannot give.

Do not repeat the numbers in the text. A gain typed into a paragraph is out of date next week, and now your page contradicts its own widget.

4. The bad parts, said by you

Find the deepest drawdown on your chart and write two lines about it: when, how deep, what caused it, what you changed or why you changed nothing.

This is the most persuasive paragraph on the page, because nobody writes it. Across the public accounts on ShowMyTrades, 38.2% have been more than 20% under water at some point and 17.6% more than 50%. A reader who knows trading expects a drawdown. What they are checking is whether you hide it.

5. How it is verified

Say it in one or two lines, and link:

These figures are read from the broker by ShowMyTrades, through a read-only connection. The full record is on my account page.

Then make sure the account page backs it up. Two badges exist: Track Record Verified (the data arrives from the broker) and Trading Privileges Verified (you proved you control the account). Getting both takes a few minutes. The difference between a verified record and an unverified one is explained in this guide, which is also a fair page to link for readers who want to understand what they are looking at.

6. The fine print

The start date of the account, and a plain risk notice: past results do not guarantee future results, and trading can lose money. The exact wording you are required to use depends on where you are and what you sell. If you sell a financial service, ask someone qualified: this guide is not legal advice.

๐Ÿšซ What to Leave Off

  • Screenshots. Every one of them invites the question "why not the live thing?"
  • A second, better-looking account next to the main one, unless you explain why there are two. Visitors assume the unexplained one is the cherry.
  • Numbers typed by hand. They go stale and then they disagree with the widget.
  • Testimonials above the record. Opinions before evidence read as a distraction.
  • A countdown or a discount. This is the page where the visitor checks whether to trust you. Sell on the page after it.

๐Ÿ”’ Decide What Stays Private

Your account settings have seven Privacy Options, and they apply inside the widget: open trades, closed trades, account number, lots, trade comments, stop loss and take profit, trade notes.

A reasonable setting for a track record page: hide the account number and the comments, keep everything else. Hiding the closed trades or the lot sizes removes exactly what a careful reader uses to judge the record.

๐Ÿ—‚๏ธ More Than One Account

If you run several strategies, give each its own account and show them as a list first, details after: one row per account with the Stats Inline widget, then the full dashboard for the main one. The layout is in how to show multiple trading accounts on one page.

โ“ FAQ

Do I need a track record page if my account page on ShowMyTrades is already public? The account page is the proof. The page on your own site is the context: who you are, what the strategy is, what happened in the bad months. Put the widget on yours and let it link to ours.

How much history should the account have before I publish the page? More than feels necessary. A few weeks show variance, not skill. See how much history a track record needs.

Can I show a demo account? You can, and it will be labelled as demo. Say so yourself in the first sentence: a demo declared openly is a test; a demo discovered by the reader is a lie.

Should I hide a bad month? You cannot hide one month, and you should not want to. A record with no losing months is the first thing experienced readers distrust.

What does it cost? Nothing. Connecting the account, the public page and the widgets are free.

Where do I paste the widget? In the element your site uses for raw HTML: see the guides for WordPress and for Wix, Webflow, Squarespace and Shopify.

Connect your account free, publish it, and build the page around the live record. To see the Complete Dashboard before you start, open the widget builder and pick any public account.
