How to Show Your MT4 or MT5 Trading Results on Your Website

Put the live equity curve, statistics and trades of a MetaTrader 4 or 5 account on your own site in about ten minutes: connect read-only, publish, paste one snippet. Free.

You trade on MetaTrader and you have a website. You want the results of the first to show on the second: a growth chart, the monthly returns, maybe the open trades. And you want it to stay current without you exporting anything.

MetaTrader does not do this on its own. This guide shows the short way: connect the account read-only to ShowMyTrades, publish it, and paste a widget into your page. It works the same for MT4 and MT5, and it is free.

๐Ÿงฐ What MetaTrader Gives You on Its Own

Three things, and none of them is a live chart on your site.

Built-in optionWhat it producesWhy it falls short
Report (right-click in the history tab, save as report)An HTML file with a table and a balance imageA file you upload by hand, frozen the second you save it
Publisher / FTP (Tools โ†’ Options)The same report, pushed to your server by FTP at an interval you setNeeds an FTP account and the terminal running; it is still a raw table on your own server, so a visitor has no reason to believe it was not edited
A screenshotA pictureA picture of numbers. Anyone can make one

The second one is the closest, and it has the real problem in it: the file lives on your server. The person reading it cannot tell whether those are the numbers the broker produced or the numbers you would like them to see.

A widget solves that because the data never passes through your hands. The visitor's browser asks ShowMyTrades for it, and ShowMyTrades reads it from the broker.

๐Ÿ”Œ Step 1: Connect the Account, Read-Only

Sign up free, open Add Account in the dashboard and choose MetaTrader 4 or 5. There are two ways to connect, and both are read-only: neither can open, modify or close a trade.

MethodWhat you doGood to know
Investor passwordType the account number, the server and the investor passwordNothing to install. We read the account from our side on a schedule
Expert AdvisorAttach our small Expert Advisor to one chart of your terminalIt sends the data as you trade, while your terminal (or VPS) is running. It also reports the health of the terminal itself

The investor password is not your trading password. It is the second, view-only password every MetaTrader account has. You set it from the terminal: in MT4 under Tools โ†’ Options โ†’ Server โ†’ Change, in MT5 under File โ†’ Change Password, choosing the investor (read only) password in both.

Your full history is imported and the statistics are computed for you: time-weighted growth, drawdown, monthly returns, per-symbol results. You do not configure any of that.

๐ŸŒ Step 2: Publish the Account

A widget shows a public page, so the account has to be published. Open the account in your dashboard, go to its settings and set the visibility to Published.

If you want the widget on your site but do not want the account listed in our public directory, choose link-only (unlisted) instead: the widget works the same, and the page is reachable only by people who have the address.

Before you publish, look at the Privacy Options in the same settings. You can hide the account number, lot sizes, open trades, closed trades, stop loss and take profit, trade comments and notes. What you hide there is hidden inside the widgets too.

๐Ÿ“‹ Step 3: Copy the Widget and Paste It

Open Widgets in the dashboard, pick the account and choose what to show. The most common choice for a first embed is the Equity Curve. The builder shows a live preview and gives you a snippet like this:

<iframe
  id="smt-equity-a1b2c3d4e"
  src="https://showmytrades.com/widget/YOUR-ACCOUNT-SLUG?type=equity&theme=auto"
  width="100%"
  height="400"
  loading="lazy"
  frameborder="0"
  style="border-radius: 8px; width: 100%;">
</iframe>
<script>
(function() {
  var iframe = document.getElementById('smt-equity-a1b2c3d4e');
  window.addEventListener('message', function(e) {
    if (e.data?.type === 'widget-resize' && e.source === iframe.contentWindow) {
      iframe.height = e.data.height;
    }
  });
})();
</script>

Paste it where the chart should appear. That is the whole job. The few lines of script at the end let the widget tell your page how tall it is, so it never shows an inner scrollbar: keep them.

Where exactly to paste depends on what your site is built with:

๐Ÿ“Š Which Widget to Show

Seven interactive widgets exist. For a MetaTrader account these are the ones people actually use:

You want to showWidgetNotes
The growth of the accountEquity CurveOne chart with five views: Growth, Balance, Profit, Growth by Trade, Drawdown
The headline numbersStats CardGain, drawdown, balance, equity. Small enough for a sidebar
Month-by-month resultsMonthly ReturnsTable or chart, percent or money
What you tradeCurrency Pair StatsLongs, shorts and totals per symbol
The trades themselvesTrade History TableClosed trades and open positions
EverythingComplete DashboardThe full account page, verification badges included. Give it a page of its own

If you run more than one EA on the same account, the account page separates results by magic number, so a buyer who clicks through from the widget can see each strategy on its own.

The full list, with sizes, themes and colours, is in the widget guide.

๐Ÿ›ก๏ธ Why a Visitor Should Believe It

Every widget links back to the account page on ShowMyTrades. That link is what makes the chart on your site worth more than a screenshot: the reader can leave your site and see the same figures on a page you do not control.

Two badges on that page do the rest. Track Record Verified says the data comes from the broker through a read-only connection. Trading Privileges Verified says the person who published the page proved they control the account. How to get both takes a few minutes and is worth doing before you embed anything.

โš ๏ธ Four Things That Go Wrong

  1. The account goes back to private. The widget stops and shows a notice instead. Published or link-only: those are the two settings that keep it alive.
  2. The script was removed. The chart renders inside a fixed box with a scrollbar. Paste the snippet whole.
  3. The terminal is off (EA method). The data stops at the last push until the terminal is back. A VPS avoids that; so does the investor password method, which needs no terminal on your side.
  4. The theme does not match your site. "Auto" follows the visitor's system setting, not your design. If your site is always light or always dark, set the theme explicitly in the builder.

โ“ FAQ

Is it really free? Yes. Connecting accounts, the public page and all the widgets cost nothing, and there are no ads on the page or in the widget.

Can the connection place or close trades? No. The investor password is view-only by design, and the Expert Advisor only reads and sends account data. Neither method can trade.

Does it work with any broker? With brokers that offer MetaTrader 4 or 5. You pick the broker's server from a list when you connect; if yours is missing, write to us.

Do I need a VPS? Not with the investor password: we read the account from our side. With the Expert Advisor the data flows while your terminal runs, so a VPS helps if your computer is not always on.

Can I show a demo account? Yes, and it is labelled as a demo account on the page. The label comes from the broker's data, not from a setting you choose.

How long until the chart appears? The history import starts as soon as the account connects, and the widget fills in when it finishes. A very long history takes longer.

Connect your MetaTrader account free, publish it, and paste your first widget. If you would like to try the builder first, open it without an account and build a widget from any public account.
